Rill Jug Special Edition

The Rill Jug explores the expressive possibilities of clay through an intuitive process shaped by the natural behaviour of the material. Working with very wet clay introduces a sense of elasticity, allowing the form to stretch, shift and respond spontaneously to the maker's gestures. Rather than following a predetermined shape, the final object emerges through an open-ended dialogue between material and maker.

Crafted in a new red clay, the jug is characterised by its organic silhouette, gently irregular body and sculptural handle, which extends from the vessel in a fluid, almost continuous gesture. Its distinctive form celebrates the raw qualities of clay and the unexpected outcomes of working with a material in motion.

Created by FURTHER THER, the Rill Jug is produced as a special edition of just 12 pieces, each individually signed. A collectible ceramic object that reflects the studio's experimental approach to craftsmanship and its interest in allowing materials to lead the design process.
